Inconel 601 is a nickel-chromium alloy with aluminum. It is a general engineering material with corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance. It can still maintain excellent performance up to 2200 ºF. Due to the presence of nickel, chromium, aluminum and other elements, a protective and adhesive oxide film is formed together, which makes the alloy's high temperature oxidation resistance outstanding, and will not be embrittled and peeled under high temperature exposure. However, it is not recommended to use 601 alloy in a strongly reducing, sulfur-containing environment. The alloy has good mechanical strength, is easy to be formed, processed and welded, and has good water corrosion resistance.
