Other common names: UNS N08825, W.Nr 2.4858, Nickelvac 825, Nicrofer 4241, Superimphy 82 and Ferrochronin 825)
Incoloy® 825 is called nickel alloy 825, which is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy containing small amounts of molybdenum, copper, and titanium. This combination of elements makes Incoloy 825 more resistant to corrosion in the harshest environments. At the same time, the alloy has resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion, intergranular corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. The addition of titanium to the alloy has Helps stabilize the alloy to prevent intergranular corrosion. It is similar to Alloy 800 but has better water corrosion resistance. Incoloy 825 nickel alloy has good mechanical properties at low to moderate-high temperatures and can be easily formed and welded through a variety of techniques. However, when exposed to temperatures above 1000°F (540°C), it will significantly reduce the ductility and affect the microstructure. Alloy 825 is widely used in sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, sulfur-containing flue gas, acid gas, oil wells, and seawater.
● Excellent resistance to reducing and oxidizing acids such as sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid
● High resistance to various oxidizing substances such as nitric acid, nitrate, and oxidizing salt
● Good mechanical properties at room temperature and high temperatures up to about 1000°F
● Good resistance to stress corrosion cracking
● Satisfactory resistance to local corrosion (such as pitting and crevice corrosion)
● Resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion
● Suitable for chemical processing
